NCV Member E-mail List Guidelines and Regulations

Newcomers Member E-mail List is a wonderful email communications tool for member use only. For it to continue to serve its purpose, everyone must adhere to the guidelines and regulations established by the Board. If you have questions about an item you want to post, please contact a member of the board.

  1. All Member information is strictly confidential. Only members are permitted to use Member E-mail List. Do not share a member’s email address found on the member e-mail list without consent from that member.
  2. Member E-mail List can be used to seek references about local businesses, stores, contractors, household or professional services; find others with common interests; or provide information about community events.
  3. Do not send unsolicited or promotional commercial announcements. Member E-mail List must not be used for the promotion of your own or your employer’s business; any commercial solicitations; requests for direct charitable or non-profit contributions or memberships; advertising; the sale of personal items; or similar types of material. Please also read the Items of Interest section.
  4. A message should always have a clearly worded subject.
  5. “Reply” only to the originator of an email. DO NOT “reply all”.
  6. Member E-mail List must not be used to send jokes; messages which contain any religious, racial or political content; and/or, photos or videos unrelated to Newcomer events. Avoid any content that might offend or embarrass another member.
  7. Do not use Member E-mail List to distribute information about virus warnings, scams, or hoaxes – even if these warnings appear legitimate. Let your anti-viral software do its work.
  8. You may manage the emails you receive in multiple ways.
    1. Receive email notices about events, deadlines, confirmations, Items of Interests and the Newsletter.
    2. Receive a digest of emails that will consolidate all emails from one day.
    3. Receive no emails.

You may change your options by contacting a member of the web team. They can be found here.

  9. Members are encouraged to use the web site https://www.newcomersofcv.org/ to keep up on events, read the newsletter, enjoy photos and find the directory of members. You may use the search box to sort members by name or interests areas. You may go to the calendar, hover over the event and a pop up window will appear with event details, identify the RSVP deadline and how to contact the organizer.
