About Us

Our monthly General Membership meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 13th at 10:30 a.m. Hope to see you there!
Our topic at this meeting is the Catawba Riverkeepers project. You won’t want to miss it!

New to Hickory, Granite Falls, Lenoir, Conover, Newton, Morganton or Taylorsville?

Welcome to the Catawba Valley in the N.C. foothills!

Newcomers of Catawba Valley is a social club for men and women where new and long-time residents explore the area and build friendships. We play cards and other games, visit restaurants and enjoy music and the theater. Most of us are retired, but all ages are welcome.

Who is a member?

Although some members have lived in the area for a decade or more, most join during the first three years in residence. We welcome members from the Unifour area which consists of Alexander, Burke, Caldwell and Catawba counties.

What do we do?

A general meeting is held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at Hickory Regional Airport’s Crosswind Cafe. Meetings occasionally are held at other locations, so check the club’s calendar. We start with a Welcome Coffee at 10:30 a.m. followed by a brief business meeting and a speaker. Most of our fun comes at our many activities, ranging from bowling, book club, games, eating out and evening socials where we get to know each other.
